Local charity co-founder announced as Coronation Champion

Community news on behalf of space2grieve | 4 May 2023

The co-founder and trustee of the bereavement charity space2grieve, Jenny Harris, has been named as one of 500 Coronation Champions.

Together with Her Majesty The Queen Consort, the Coronation Champion Awards were launched by the Royal Voluntary Service to celebrate extraordinary volunteers who go the extra mile to improve the lives of others. Jenny has been invited to attend the Coronation Concert at Windsor Castle on Sunday 7 May.

Jenny, after many years of volunteering in the bereavement sector, has worked tirelessly to set up space2grieve, a local charity, which provides free support to all Richmond residents who have been bereaved, 'no matter when, no matter how'.

Support is in the form of one-to-one sessions at the ETNA Community Centre, or face-to-face in school, or at home remotely on the phone or via zoom.

space2grieve offers specialist support to children and young people including in person 'Parenting Through Grief' sessions for parents.

space2grieve also hosts the compassionate cuppa, a free drop-in grief café every third Tuesday of the month at ETNA Community Centre, providing peer support and connection for bereaved residents across the borough.

If you would like to learn more about the support on offer, contact space2grieve on 07519 376363 or via email at support@space2grieve.org.uk.
