Join the Mayor and take part in the White Ribbon Torch Walk in Sheen

27 March 2023

A White Ribbon Torch Walk is taking place in Sheen to raise awareness of violence against women and girls.

To show our support for ending violence, we have organised a Torch Walk to raise awareness that will be led by Councillor Julia Cambridge, the Mayor of Richmond Upon Thames. The walk aims to encourage residents to make a stand and call out abusive behaviour.

As a White Ribbon accredited organisation, we are committed to preventing violence against women and making the borough a safe place for everyone. In line with this and as outlined in our VAWG Strategy, we are working with community groups and our residents to unite against the issue.

Everyone is able to join the short walk by turning up on the day. Participants are encouraged to bring an electric torch or use their phone light to demonstrate the borough’s solidarity with victims and our collective determination to eliminate the issue. The walk will be marshalled and will pass by Tangier Green, Milestone Green, and Sheen Lane.
