Spread love in Richmond this Giving Tuesday

2 December 2025

Discover meaningful ways to give to charity, donate resources, or offer your time to make a difference during the festive season and beyond.

Giving Tuesday is a global movement celebrating kindness in all its forms, encouraging us to share what we can, whether that’s time, money, skills, or simply spreading the word about a cause close to our hearts.

Double your donations with the Big Give Christmas Challenge

Donate to local charities participating in the Big Give from midday on Tuesday 2 December until midday on Tuesday 9 December, and your donation will doubled, at no extra cost to you!

  • Age UK Richmond are raising funds for their important work supporting older people’s wellbeing. Any online donation made to Age UK Richmond on the Big Give website will be doubled, thanks to pledgers and the Shanly Foundation
  • The Mulberry Centre are raising donations to continue to offer vital services including counselling, complementary therapies, wellbeing workshops, and social activities to support those affected by cancer. They’re also hosting festive fun at the Mulberry Centre on Wednesday 3 December, where there will be market stalls, a choir performance and festive refreshments
  • Help Integrated Neurological Services with their goal of raising £20,000 for their Speech and Language Therapy service. This includes low-cost communication-friendly groups and free one-to-one speech and language therapy assessments and sessions to support local people whose speech, breathing, or language has been affected by their neurological condition

Help our young people thrive through the Richmond Voluntary Fund

The Richmond Voluntary Fund is still accepting donations for the 2025 appeal, providing much needed support for children and young people’s wellbeing. Your contribution will enable these charities to deliver therapies, resources, and essential services, helping young people build resilience, gain independence, and lead fulfilling lives.

If you’d like to be part of the change, you can donate online or by cheque.

Christmas is a time of giving

This Christmas, charity Crossroads Care Richmond and Kingston is once again running its Show an Act of Kindness Appeal. For £35, their staff team will hand-deliver a Christmas hamper to local carers in need.

Donate to the Christmas Hamper Appeal and make a difference to carers at Christmas.

Donate unwanted items

Instead of throwing away unwanted clothing and furniture, donate quality winter clothing to local charity shops and contact the Richmond Furniture Scheme to give your unwanted furniture a new home.

Support food distribution organisations such as Food For Thought Heathfield, a not for profit project offering rescued surplus food to the community in Heathfield, Whitton. Any donations received help them to continue to rescue surplus food for our community to eat and enjoy. Donate to Food for Thought Heathfield.

More ways to give back to the local community

Giving back doesn’t stop with donations and is not limited to the festive season. You can explore opportunities to volunteer your time and skills or support local charities by fundraising and campaigning for causes that matter to you.
