Explore your local community through a creative lens

2 December 2025

Visit the new 'Tending to the Centres' exhibition at Orleans House Gallery - a collaboration between RESOLVE Collective and Ham, East Sheen, and Whitton Libraries, celebrating their pivotal role in the community now and into the future.

This free exhibition, opening today (Tuesday 2 December), shows the process and outcomes of RESOLVE Collective’s Library Logs workshops and Library Lates events, supported by the Council.

In spring 2025, we partnered with RESOLVE Collective to host a series of workshops to create this exhibition.

The Library Logs workshops involved inviting local library-goers to imagine themselves as libraries, answering the question: 'What experiences, memories, and passions would you borrow and lend from one another?'

RESOLVE Collective then worked with participants in their Library Lates events, to turn their ideas into tangible art such as buildings and other structures using different materials like clay and film. The participants explored themes of archiving, play, and the library as a stage.

In Whitton Library, curator and cultural producer Avni Patel explored the centrality of play in her work, offering interactive activities inside and outside the mini-ball pit.

In East Sheen Library, creative producer and educator Dhiyandra Natalegawa shared her embodied practice of mapping, inviting participants to use different media to articulate where and when they find inspiration and creativity.

In Ham Library, artist and facilitator Francesca Telling reflected on institutional memory and archives of erasure, activating the reimagined archive shelf.
