Social Workers looking for a new role are being invited to attend Richmond Council’s Adult Social Care Recruitment Fair in Twickenham on Friday 01 November.
Attendees will have the opportunity for on-the-spot interviews and job offers.
Experienced Social Workers, and post-ASYE Social Workers can attend the Fair, at York House in Twickenham, to learn more about the opportunities available, the Council’s values and the benefits of working across Richmond and Wandsworth.
There are positions within the Social Work Locality Teams, Joint Reviews Team, Hospital Social Work Team and Learning Disability Team. Candidates will have the chance to interview for roles on the day, and some may come away with a job offer.
At a similar event held earlier this year, a number of social workers were offered positions, feedback following the event included:
"I am very glad to have made the move."
"One of the main reasons that I put off applying for a new job earlier is that filling social worker applications are very, very, very time consuming. At the event, I simply completed the written assessment, then was interviewed. I think I was in and out in about 2 hours."
"I spoke to a few of the managers and staff who were all very welcoming and honest about what to expect."
Councillor Piers Allen, Chair of the Adult Services, Health and Housing Committee, said:
"We have many older people in our borough who rely on assistance and care provided by local council services. These residents’ quality of life depends on the expertise, professionalism and dedication of our wide care workforce. Richmond is a beautiful borough with a strong community ethos and I am delighted to welcome anyone wishing to work with us to the Recruitment Fair, to find out how they can make a difference to our residents’ lives."

The event is on Friday 1 November from 10am until 4pm in the Winter Gardens, York House, Twickenham, TW1 3AA.
