Pooches show their best side at Diamond Jubilee Gardens

Dog owners across the borough are being invited to put their best paw forward and take part in the Annual Twickenham Festival’s Dog Show.

As part of this year’s festival, from 9 to 25 June, the Twickenham Riverside Trust and Richmond Council are hosting a Dog Show on Saturday 10 June at Diamond Jubilee Gardens. Dog owners can enter their canine friends into a competition that looks at:

  • Best Junior Handler (under 16s)
  • Most Beautiful Bitch
  • Most Handsome Hound
  • Best Rescue
  • Best Fancy Dress / Six Legs
  • Best Golden Oldie (7+)
  • Waggiest Tail
  • Most puppilicious puppy
  • Best Trick

In addition, well-trained pooches can test their nerve at the Sit-and-Stay Sausage Eating Challenge.


The Dog Show is part of the wider Twickenham Festival, where other highlights include a Tug of War, the Church Street Big Picnic, craft market and Church Street Goes Green.


Ishbel Murray, Assistant Director of Contracts and Leisure for Richmond Council, said:
