Eight local primary schools went head to head this week in a netball league that saw a Richmond school take the top spot.
Girls and boys aged nine to eleven took part in the league at Old Deer Park. The teams represented the top schools in the borough league. Youngsters from Marshgate, Bishop Perrin, St James, Stanley, Chasebridge, St John the Baptist, Queens and Sheen Mount took part in the competitive netball competition. With Marshgate scoring more goals against St John’s in the final.
This was the second success for the school- last week they also represented the borough in the London School Games – where they came second.
Cllr Meena Bond, Richmond Council Cabinet Member for Sports, said:
“What a fantastic event. We have some of the most active children in the country and this event really shows why. Congratulations to Marshgate and a big well done to all the other schools that took part.”

St James 7 v 10 Stanley
Chase Bridge 5 v 9 St John the Baptist
Queens 14 v 3 Sheen Mount
