Release Date: 18 July 2018
The community is being invited to have their say on plans for a new café facility in Buccleuch Gardens.
Currently a disused toilet block, the existing building infrastructure would be reconfigured to include a café, toilet facilities and a new terraced seating area at the front of the building.
It is proposed that the new facilities be funded from money paid by the developer of the Star and Garter under the legal agreement which was a prerequisite for planning permission.
Cllr Martin Elengorn, Cabinet Member for Environment, Planning and Sustainability, said:
“The Council secured financial contributions in the legal agreement which was a prerequisite to granting planning permission for redevelopment of the Star and Garter.
“If you feel this project is a worthwhile use of part of this funding and would like to have a say on these plans, please do so before the deadline.”
If you would like to be sent a paper copy to have your say, please email us. The consultation closes on Monday 13 August 2018.
