Release Date: 19 July 2017
Free drop-in IT taster sessions are being held this summer to help Richmond upon Thames residents get to grips with their tablets, laptops and smartphones.
Our Library Services are encouraging people to bring along their gadgets to one of the drop-in sessions where friendly, knowledgeable staff can help in getting the most out of them. Whether it’s setting up email, going online, downloading apps, changing settings or learning what they can do, staff will be on hand to help.
The free sessions are designed to help residents discover what more their laptops, smartphones and tablets can do, or offer a gentle introduction for those new to these devices.
Visit the events in libraries page for details on each session.
Cllr David Linnette, Cabinet Member for Libraries, said:
“More and more things are going online and so it is only right we, as a Council, keep up with the digital world. Having access to Council services online makes it much easier and quicker for people to complete tasks.
“We are really hoping that anyone who isn't confident about using their smartphone, tablet or laptop will take advantage of the sessions that are running over the summer.”
