Dignity in Care deadline looms

The deadline to nominate carers in the borough who go above and beyond, offering the very best care and support for vulnerable residents, is only one week away!

The deadline for the local Dignity in Care Awards, which celebrates excellence across the care sector, is only days away – 28 July 2017.

The awards aim to promote and recognise the very best in care and support and promote dignity in care whatever the service provided. Now in its fifth year, the Dignity in Care Awards:

  • Recognise good quality care within the Borough
  • Raise awareness of dignity in care
  • Inspire local care workers and personal assistants to deliver outstanding care and support
  • Reward and recognise staff and teams that a make difference and go the extra mile

This year, nominations can be made in four different categories:

  • Personal Assistant of the Year (Ken Yew Award)
  • Carer of the Year (Home support and day care)
  • Carer of the Year (Care Homes)
  • Carer of the Year (Learning Disabilities)

Richmond Council’s Cabinet Member for Adults’ Services, Cllr David Marlow, said: 

“There are still seven days left to nominate those first-class carers in the borough who provide quality support and care for some of the borough’s most vulnerable residents.

“These awards are about recognising all those unsung heroes within our community who go the extra mile. I would like to encourage as many people as possible to make a nomination so no one misses out.”

If you have seen or experienced exemplary care and support consistently demonstrating dignity, compassion and respect and would like to nominate a care worker or personal assistant, complete the online nomination form.

The closing date is Friday 28 July and the awards will take place at the Clarendon Hall on Thursday 28 September 2017.
