Release Date: 25 April 2017
Ten tonnes of compost will be available for free next month, just in time for the spring gardening season.
On Sunday 7 May, ten tonnes of compost will be available as a free giveaway at Holly Road Car Park in Twickenham. Situated next to the recycling bins, residents will be able to take home two 10 litre bags per household for free from 11am until 2pm (or until all the compost is gone).
To help residents get the most out of the giveaway, the Council’s waste and recycling team along with Veolia (waste and recycling collection contractor) and the West London Waste Authority, will also be on hand to provide waste and recycling advice about composting.
In addition, residents will also be able to bring their small unwanted electrical items to this temporary drop-off point. As long as they can fit into a household wheelie bin (240 litres) residents can de-clutter their homes of broken or unwanted small electrical items such as alarm clocks, toys, kettles, and hair dryers.
