A sunny turnout for the Mayor's Fish and Chip Cruise!

Release Date: 28 April 2017

Despite an afternoon hailstorm, the sun came out just in time for the Mayor’s Annual Fish and Chip Cruise yesterday, raising £2,169 for a local charity.

The cruise set off from St Helena Pier in Richmond with 117 people on board and made its way up the Thames to the Beautiful Hampton Court and back. A delicious Fish and Chip supper was served along the way.

Delighted raffle winners scooped up prizes donated by The Petersham Hotel, David Lloyd and Kew Gardens. All proceeds from the cruise and the raffle will go to the Mayor’s Charity, Integrated Neurological Services, who provide long-term support for people with a neurological conditions and for their families and carers.

Richmond’s Mayor, Cllr David Linnette, said:

“The Annual Mayor’s Fish and Chip Cruise is one of the highlights of my events calendar. It was fantastic to see so many people come out in support of a very important local charity, despite the temperamental London weather!”
