There are a number of ways you can have your say on the Overview and scrutiny process and we value your contribution.
We can’t promise to form the same conclusions as you, but your comments will be acknowledged and considered. If you raise an issue that falls outside of Overview and Scrutiny’s remit, we will forward your comments to the relevant department or organisation and ask them to respond to you.
Members of the public may make representations to the Overview and Scrutiny Committees on any substantive item on the agenda. You must register to speak in advance.
Find out more about speaking at Committee.
Email or post us your comments on any item being heard at Committee or being investigated by a Scrutiny Task Group.
Please ensure your comments reach us by 12pm on the working day before the meeting. After this point all responses will be collated and circulated to the Committee.
If you think there is an issue that Scrutiny should look at, please let us know. New suggestions are particularly welcome in the spring, when we set our programme of work, but it is sometimes possible to select topics at other times.
We will consider all suggestions in light of our criteria and current workload.
Please note that we do not take decisions or adjudicate on individual complaints. If you are unhappy about how your case has been treated please see the complaints page.
Overview and Scrutiny are unable to investigate individual planning and licensing decisions, though they can look more broadly at policy. However, they sometimes look at individual cases as part of their evidence-gathering work.
