Road closures for charity or community events
For charity and community events the Council has a limited budget to supplement events within the borough. Should the individual have to pay the costs of the road closure the current price is £836 for the traffic regulation order. The costs of the diversion signage and cones will be supplied at an additional cost. Depending on the nature of your event you may be eligible for help towards your event traffic management costs.
As there is a legal and consultative process to be undertaken, at least eight weeks notice of closure is required.
Please do not start organising your event until approval is given as approval is subject to road works programmed in the borough.
In most cases a site meeting will have to take place between the Council and the event organiser.
