The outdoor pool at Pools on the Park in Richmond is reopening for the summer on Monday 18 May.
Last year over 280,000 people swam at the pool and Richmond Council, who run the site in partnership with SpringHealth Leisure Ltd, are hoping even more people will visit this year after making a number of improvements over the winter.
These include retiling the pool and installing a new filtration system, the opening of a new organic café and work on the forecourt and car park to improve access.
Chris Jones, Sports Development Manager at Richmond Council, said:
“The pool is hive of activity over the summer, with everyone from serious sports people to families using it. We’ve made a number of improvements over the winter and hope as many people as possible take advantage of them.
The indoor pool will close from the beginning of June until late September for retiling and the installation of a new filtering system.
Swimming in the outdoor pool cost adults £4 and children £3.20. Under-5s and over-60s can swim for free.
During the school holidays, due to the refurbishment of the indoor pool, only the outdoor will be in use, so session swimming will be introduced.
