Young people from Richmond and Hounslow will be coming together for an urban Christmas spectacular later this month.
The Urban Christmas Carol will be a showcase of street dancers, body poppers, actors, singers, bollywood dancers and live bands on the 14 December 2011.
Coordinated by Richmond Housing Partnership's Urban Academy with MTV Youth, EMAG Richmond and Hounslow’s Youth Services, the young people will be coming together to celebrate all the skills they have achieved over the past twelve months.
Cllr Christine Percival, Richmond Council Cabinet Member for Education, Youth and Children’s Services, said:
“Over the past three months over 100 young people have been working hard to fine tune their performance skills for this unique showcase.
“The Urban Academy has become one of the borough’s largest youth projects, delivering fun inclusive activities for all young people in the borough. This is a fabulous opportunity to see exactly what they can do.”
Bertie Morse, Urban Academy Project Manager, added:
“The show marks the end of another successful year for Urban Academy, and we have teamed up with some great partners to make this year’s show a spectacular!
“It will be a great way to celebrate and showcase what our young people have achieved, and a perfect opportunity to let the wider community know what Urban Academy is all about.
“This will no doubt be the biggest show yet for Urban Academy and we are all very excited and very proud of what our young people have achieved.”
The Urban Christmas Carol is on Wednesday 14 December in the Clarendon Hall, York House, Twickenham, TW1 3AA from 7pm – 9pm.
Entry charge on the door costs £3 for Adults and £1 for Children.
