If you have problems with your sight or hearing

We can provide information about our adult social care services in a range of alternative formats including large print, Braille, audio tape or CD. Please email the Public Information Officer, harmeet.bhundia@richmond.gov.uk if you would like copies. BSL

If you are deaf and/or have some level of hearing loss and British Sign language (BSL) is your chosen method of communication, follow the link to a number of BSL videos on some of the services provided.

If English is not your first language

If you need an interpreter we can organise this over the telephone or face-to-face. If you need someone to sign for you (British Sign Language), we can also arrange this but, because of the national shortage of sign language interpreters, it could take up to three weeks.

If you speak very little English, or no English at all, visit one of the reception areas listed below during office hours. We will arrange a telephone interpreting service to help you straight away, and someone to talk to you in your own language if necessary. You may have to wait or come back for the interpreter service, but the reception staff will talk to you about this.

You can get information about all our services and access to telephone interpreting at these reception areas:

  • Civic Centre, 44 York Street, Twickenham, TW1 3BZ
  • Richmond Information Centre, Old Town Hall, Whittaker Avenue, Richmond, TW9 1TP
  • Teddington Centre, 18 Queens Road, Teddington, TW11 0LR
  • Any borough library.
