Adult Socal Care E-learning programme
Adults Workforce Development is encouraging learning at work for all Adults Social Care staff and has set up some of its basic awareness courses in bite size chunks of e-learning. These courses can be accessed through the new learning and development portal - Richmond Online Study Environment (ROSE)
Who can access e-learning?
All staff working for the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames (LBRuT), Partner agencies including NHS Richmond, South West London and St.George’s Trust, The Police, Residential and Nursing Homes, the Private, Voluntary and Independent Sector, Carers, Personal Assistants, and any one involved in Adults Social Care.
The benefits of e-learning
E-learning is a convenient way to deliver training to a dispersed workforce in a cost effective way. It is available at any time, and individuals will be able to undertake learning at a time and place suitable to them. The delivery of content can be in bite size units and the interactive nature of the medium makes learning fun.
E-learning is available 24 hours a day and can be completed anywhere as long as you have access to a computer and internet. Staff should discuss learning needs and study times with their managers/employers before hand. There are direct links to relevant Social Care sites such as the Social Care Institute of Excellence (SCIE) and Skills for Care.
The course package also comes with a spoken element. To hear the content please turn on the sound on your computer. If you require headphones to facilitate learning in your work environment, contact: AdultsWorkforceDevelopment@richmond.gov.uk
There are limited numbers of headphones available to Richmond council staff only.
There are currently two e-learning courses commissioned by Adults Workforce Development (AWD). These are:
- Safeguarding Adults - This replaces the Safeguarding Adults foundation classroom based course. It has been commissioned to meet the rising demand for Adult Safeguarding Awareness in LBRuT. Quarterly statistics of all learners who have completed this course will be returned to the Safeguarding Adults Partnership Board.
- Dementia - This course has been commissioned in conjunction with NHS Richmond to increase the knowledge of everyone working with or caring for people with Dementia in LBRuT.
These courses can be undertaken in bite sizes and paced conveniently by the e-learner. These e-learning courses are pre-requisites to booking on to related courses run by the AWD and will be strictly monitored as part of our blended learning approach. The successful completion of each e-learning course including the end of course quiz will entitle learners to a course completion certificate and updated training profile. Partially completed courses will not count towards staff Continuous Professional Development (CPD) record.
This e-learning is available free to all LBRuT staff and partners on the Richmond Online Study Environment (ROSE) and can be accessed using the link:www.learningpool.com/richmond.
