Living safely at home

For many people moving safely around their home is an ongoing problem and accidents like falls can have serious consequences. These problems can be due to illness, sight or hearing loss, a physical or learning disability or just growing older and finding it harder to move around.

  • Equipment to help you live safelyIf you have problems bathing, washing or dressing, there is a range of specially designed equipment to help make looking after yourself simpler.
  • Major adaptations to your homeThe installation of major adaptations such as stair lifts and ramps for easy access can help you remain living independently in your own home.
  • Help with walkingIf you are finding it difficult to walk around inside your home there are a number of walking aids available. This could be a walking stick or frame, or maybe a wheelchair.
  • Telecare and Careline EquipmentFor older and more vulnerable people living on their own, alarms or detectors in the home are a great way of making contact with someone in an emergency.
  • Someone to help you live safely at homeIf you are unable to move safely around your home, even with mobility equipment, it is probably time you thought about getting help from a care worker.
