While every effort is made to keep the information accurate and up to date, the Early Years and Childcare Team does not accept any liability or responsibility for the accuracy of the information received from providers and organisations; the suitability of services described on the site for a particular purpose; the quality of the services provided; or the content of any external website linked to the site.

Important information about organisations and services on the Childcare search

Not all groups/activity providers are required to be registered with the Office for Standards in Education, Children’s Services and Skills (Ofsted) and these groups may not be regulated in any way. Where a group does require registration, for example most childcare groups, we receive confirmation and details from the regulating body (Ofsted). Where a service is not required to be registered it may be eligible for registration under Ofsted’s Voluntary Childcare Register. Many of the services listed on this site are not registered or regulated in any way.

We advise parents/guardians to check suitability of all childcare, for example to check Ofsted registration and to visit and take references.
