Registered childminders
Find a local childminder
What is a childminder?
Childminders look after up to six children under the age of eight years old in their own homes.
When do childminders operate?
Childminders are self-employed, and therefore decide on what hours and conditions they work in. This means that childminders are often flexible on the times which they are available to work.
Where are childminders located?
Childminders look after children in their own homes and are located throughout the borough.
Are childminders registered?
Childminders have to be registered by Ofsted. The registration process involves an inspection of the premises from which they operate and an inspection of their ability as a childminder.
Childminding inspection reports are available online on the Ofsted webpage. Childminders are listed according to their Ofsted reference number. These numbers are available on the childcare search.
