Paying your Business Rates
Paying by direct debit?
You can set up a Direct Debit online or download a Business Rates direct debit form. Once completed and signed please return the form to our offices. You must complete all parts of the form, including the official use box.
By completing the direct debit form you are giving the Council permission to collect payments from your bank account.
- We will tell you well in advance of the amounts and dates of payments.
- You stay in complete control and benefit from guaranteed safeguards. Please see the direct debit guarantee at the bottom of the form.

Pay online
You can pay your Business Rates online with our secure online payment system using a credit/debit card 24 hours day, 7 days a week. Credit card payments are subject to a handling fee. There is no handling fee for debit card payments.

By telephone
You can pay using a credit/debit card by telephoning our dedicated line for payments on 020 8045 1171. As this is an automated line, this service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You will be asked to enter your Business Rates account number, which is shown on the front of your bill. Credit card payments are subject to a handling fee. There is no handling fee for debit card payments.
Transfers from your bank
You can pay via BACS, internet, telephone or branch banking. You will need to quote your Business Rates account number and the Council's bank account number 61683657 and sort code 08-90-34.
By standing order
To pay your Business Rates by standing order you need to provide your bank with our account details. Our bank details for Business Rates standing orders are:

Please remember that the Business Rates account number (only) must be quoted on the standing order. This is to ensure that your payments are correctly processed.
By IBAN transfer (international bank account number)
To make a payment from abroad, you will need to quote the Council's International Bank Account Number (IBAN): GB94 CPBK 0890 3461 6836 57 and BIC code: CPBK GB22 You will need to quote your Business Rates account number only in the bank reference field.
At a Post Office
You can pay free of charge by cash, cheque or debit card at any Post Office. You must take your bill with you as the Post Office will need to read the bar code details on your bill. If you pay by cheque, make your cheque payable to 'Post Office Ltd'. Find your nearest Post Office here.
At a PayPoint

At a bank
You can pay by cash or cheque at your own bank taking your paying-in slip with you. Cheques should be made payable to LBRUT. Some banks may charge you for this service.
By post
Please send a cheque with your paying-in slip, to London Borough of Richmond upon Thames, Civic Centre, 44 York Street, Twickenham, TW1 3BZ. Please make sure that you cheque is made payable to LBRUT and please write you Business Rates account number on the back of the cheque.
Please note that the Council will only send a receipt if you enclose a stamp addressed envelope with your payment.
