The community meals service is available to adults who are unable to prepare a cooked meal due to disability, frailty or illness. People who require this service in their homes can choose whether they prefer hot meals, which can be delivered daily, or frozen meals, which are delivered every fortnight. Meals are also provided on a daily basis to people who attend the Council’s three day centres. A charge is made for each meal wherever this is taken.
Currently 77 people receive hot meals and 17 receive frozen meals in their homes. The average monthly number of meals taken at the day centres is 1,860.
