Before you start

Check that you should be making your claim with us.

If you are also going to claim:

  • Income Support, Jobseekers Allowance and/or Employment Support Allowance, you must make your claim via Jobcentre Plus.
  • Pension Credit, you must claim via the Pension Service.

Otherwise, continue to make an application to Richmond Council.

You can also bring your completed form to the Benefits counter at the Civic Centre, 44 York Street, Twickenham, TW1 3BZ

We will need proof of your circumstances in order to assess your claim. See our proof checklist. If you don't have all the information we need at this stage, you can submit additional evidence later.

Whether you applied to us, the Jobcentre Plus or the Pension Service, we will write to let you know the decision about your claim. We may request more information from you before a decision can be made.
