Check if a skip is licensed
Skip hire companies are required to obtain a licence from the Council to place a skip on a road in the Borough.
The Council’s Street Inspectors check skips on the road to ensure they comply with the terms of their licence.
If you believe a skip in your street to be unlicensed, we can send a Street Inspector to investigate. Any skip which is found to be on the public highway without a valid skip licence from the Council may face formal enforcement action, which could lead to the skip being removed by the Council. The provider/owner of the skip may face legal proceedings.
