Equine Idyll: Bethe Bronson & Laura Marker

11 May - 4 June 2017

Orleans House has been lost to the passage of time, but once was an idyllic retreat, worlds away from the bustling city; a pastoral vision set beside the tranquil flowing river - horses and boats providing the main way in and out.

About the exhibition

Equine Idyll is an exhibition inspired by archival dreamscape imagery relating to Orleans House and experimental lowtech moving-image technologies of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries.

Immersive projections reminiscent of magic lantern shows will act as a gateway to an earlier century, the heyday of Orleans House, giving the impression that a lost world has momentarily been recovered.
