Orleans House Gallery runs an Alternative Education Programme for young people outside of mainstream education or for those who struggle within it.
Students are able to work towards qualifications including GCSE Art and Design (AQA) and Arts Awards (Trinity College) in regular focussed sessions, either in small groups or individually.
Young people are guided by artist educators who are able to teach a wide range of artistic skills and have extensive knowledge of the current syllabus. Students are encouraged to expand upon their personal creative interests whilst learning new techniques and methods in our professional arts studio.
They will learn how to build exciting and effective sketchbooks/portfolios and have the opportunity to visit exhibitions and access collections. The gallery is registered to hold official examinations (AQA Art and Design only) in a spacious, relaxed environment and facilitate all student administration and moderation. Students will have the opportunity to exhibit their work in the gallery throughout the course.
