In August 2014 Orleans House Gallery ran an Arts Award Summer School based on the theme of Architecture.
This project saw 14 young people achieve a Bronze Arts Award during an intensive week of workshops, visits and activities. Young people were able to work in the style of prolific architects as well as design and create models of their own fantasy buildings. Young people were able to discover and draw inspiration from James Gibb’s Octagon room at Orleans House Gallery, as well as teach their peers different creative skills. The week saw young people face a number of group challenges including newspaper skyscrapers, straw bridges and balloon chairs.
After the success of the project we plan to run another Arts Award summer School in Summer 2015, so please look out for more information.
