October half term activities

Autumn Big Draw! Take part in this year’s Big Draw and be inspired by animation, Autumn and Halloween. Work with professional artists and create artworks with a range of materials including animation, textiles and more!

You can also join us for a series of family workshops creating digital capes and Georgian Halloween crafts. There are activities for all ages from 0 to 15 including full day workshops, half day workshops and family events.

3D Drawings for ages 4+ Work with artist Dawn Smithers and make your own 3D glasses. Experiment with drawing and colour to make your images jump off of the page!

Wednesday 25 October 10am to 3pm Enchanted Maps for ages 5+ Work with artist Bella Millon and make an enchanted map! Imagine and draw a map of a magical world and add details using stamp making, ink drop drawing and modelling clay

      Pen and Ink Portraits for ages 7+ Work with artist Dominique Holt to create your own self portrait using pen and ink whilst exploring drawing skills and techniques.  £31

Thursday 26 October 10am to 3pm Living Lines for ages 5+ Work with artist  Elsa Fritsch and become your favourite animation character using costume, props and performance.

    Drawing Lost Treasures for ages 7+ Work with Stables Gallery artist Katie Sollohub to create drawings from memory and your imagination. Using pencil, felt tips and pastels, you will make drawings inspired by the lost treasures of local heritage sites. Be inspired by Katie’s upcoming exhibition ‘Eternal Sunshine’ and create artworks responding to place, stories and heritage

Friday 27 October 10am to 12 noon Family Workshop - Magic Capabilities for ages 4+ Join us and artist Gwen Ramsay to make your own electronic cape. Using e-textile techniques families will design and create a cape to wear inspired by hopes, wishes, fears and dreams. This workshop is part of ‘Make: Shift: Do,’ the Crafts Council 's annual festival of new making.

  10.30am to 12.30pm See Saw See Saw allows children to learn, play and explore in our multi-sensory sessions designed to encourage creativity, curiosity and develop skills in communication, co-ordination and social interaction.

Saturday 28 October 1 to 4pm Big Draw Spooky Special for all the family Join us this Halloween for an afternoon of activities inspired by the spooky stories and collection of Orleans House Gallery. Create a creepy collaborative drawing, crawling hand sculptures, Victorian flip books and more! Ghosts and Ghouls welcome!
