Finding out about applications

There are several ways of finding out about planning applications:-

Ask us

You can telephone us or visit our reception area. We keep a register of all current planning applications, together with copies available for public inspection. The weekly list of planning applications can also be inspected at the local library and can be viewed online.

The local newspaper

Major planning applications are advertised in the local newspaper, Richmond and Twickenham Times.

Statutory advertisement

A number of other applications (usually those affecting listed buildings or conservation areas). A notice will be published in The local newspaper, and a site notice will also be posted.

Neighbour notification

The Council usually notifies by post all occupiers of adjoining sites who may be affected by the proposal.

Article 12 notification

If a planning application is submitted for development on land or buildings which the applicant does not own, the applicant has a legal duty to inform the landowners.
