‘Share a Book’ reading group
'Share a Book' is a new reading group with a difference.
Come and join our relaxing weekly meetings as we read a selection of stories and poems together over a cup of tea.You’ll be under no pressure to read or participate more than you want to, and there’s no need to read anything beforehand.
Come along and give it a try, everyone welcome.

School Log Books and the history of Teddington’s first school
Dr Christopher French, former Director of Kingston University’s Centre for Local History Studies, will show how log books can be a really useful tool for your local history research. He will then use some specific log books to illustrate the history of St Mary’s and St Peter’s Church of England Primary School.

Designing with plants and nature - A talk by Laura de Beden: landscape architect and garden designer
You are invited to this dynamic talk to be delighted, enthused and informed about how we can plan our gardens and our planting to be in tune with nature. Come and discover how we can create a sympathetic and harmonious relationship between the plants we choose and the places we put them!
Laura de Beden is a landscape architect and garden designer. She has studied and worked with John Brookes, Peter Youngman, Preben Jacobsen.

The Handel House Museum
Join us at Teddington Library as Martin Wyatt, Deputy Director of the Handel House Museum, comes to talk about the life and career of George Frideric Handel in London, and his contribution to the history of music.

The History of Radnor House
A talk by Mike Cherry, local historian and member of the Borough of Twickenham Local History Society, on the history of this once well-known Italianate-style house that was sited on the banks of the Thames in Twickenham.

All libraries hold a storytime for the under-5s once a week; see the Storytime page for details.
Tiny Teddies
Most libraries also hold monthly bounce and rhyme sessions for pre-school children, called Tiny Teddies. These sessions are great fun and include songs, rhyme and stories. All these activities are free of charge.
