Developing our special school provision
A decision has now been made to proceed to Statutory Proposals regarding the re-provision of Strathmore Special School.
This decision is informed by two pieces of information. Firstly, a letter to the Joint Director of Children’s Services from the chair of governors of Strathmore, Grey Court and Russell Schools. These letters outline an intention to proceed with the proposals.
The second deciding factor is in connection with the outcomes from the formal consultation. The responses to the two primary questions, namely do you agree or disagree with the proposal to invest further in SEN in Richmond schools and do you agree or disagree with the proposals to move Strathmore School to a multi site school, both resulted in more than 50% of respondents indicating that they were in agreement.
The statutory notice and statutory proposals have now been published. The deadline for comment or objection is 14 June 2013.
The formal consultation process was held 21 January 2013 to 18 February 2013.
