Criminal minds host author evening

Local fans of British and Scandinavian crime fiction are invited to attend an evening with two top authors at Castlenau Library on 7 July.

Crime writer Elena Forbes and critic Barry Forshaw will be exploring the recent rise in popularity of Nordic crime fiction and the current British scene at the special event. As well as exploring the crime genre, Elena Forbes will be discussing her three bestselling books, one of which won local acclaim when it featured local town Barnes and starred the ‘Barnes Murder Detectives’. Critic, journalist and writer Barry Forshaw, whose work includes the first biography of Steigg Larsson will also be talking popular Scandavian crime fiction and what authors to watch out for this year.

Cllr Pamela Fleming, Strategic Cabinet Member for Community, Business and Culture on Richmond Council, said: “We’ve had some of the best in the business host our author evenings so far this year and this event is no different. For bookworms who are interested in the popular Scandinavian crime genre and British fiction this event is a must. It promises to be a great evening at a bargain price so I encourage residents to book early to avoid disappointment.”

Tickets are £3.00 and include refreshments. To book please visit your local library, or book online through www.richmond.gov.uk/libraries. Signed books will be available to purchase.
