Community and Police Partnership

Community and Police Partnership (CPP)

The Community and Police Partnership (CPP) was established in 1986. It aims to facilitate cooperation and communication between local Police and the community. The CPP Constitution(pdf, 32KB) establishes its independence from the Police and Council, so that it can provide an authentic voice for local people. For further information, download a copy of the 2012 CPP leaflet(pdf, 53KB).

The CPP holds public meetings to discuss all aspects of policing within the borough and acts as an umbrella body for the 17 ward Police Liaison Groups.

The CPP organises a number of projects each year to encourage dialogue between the Police and hard-to-reach or vulnerable groups. These include an annual Youth Crime Conference, Datalink Canisters and promotion of the Met's Language Line(pdf, 1181KB).

We welcome new members to join the CPP

The CCP welcomes participation from local groups and organisations that represent a significant number of people and will take an active interest in local policing matters. You can apply for your organisation to become a member using the CPP Membership Application Form(pdf, 16KB) .

Current members include the Ethnic Minorities Advocacy Group (EMAG), Neighbourhood Watches, Resident’s Associations, other local voluntary organisations and statutory agencies, Councillors and senior Police officers.
