Richmond’s annual celebration of music, featuring acts from around the world, will take place on Richmond Riverside on the weekend of 18 and 19 August.
World Music on the Riverside, organised by Richmond Council as part of the Mayor’s Outdoor Arts Festival Showtime, is set to be one of the highlights of the borough’s summer calendar. This year’s line-up includes Mariachi from Mariachi Mexatac, traditional New Zealand music by Mania and an acoustic French quartet, Oh La La. Also featured in the two day celebration of music will be West African music, English brass bands, reggae and much more.
Cllr Pamela Fleming, Richmond Council’s Cabinet Member for Community, Business and Culture said:
“This years World Music Festival once again brings a fantastic line up of overseas performances to our doorstep. Each year international artists put on a great show for Richmond with their outstanding music and dance.
“The event is for the entire family and it’s a great chance to soak up some culture for free on the Riverside.”
World Music Festival runs from 1pm - 8pm on Richmond Riverside, just north of Richmond Bridge.
