Cllr Stephen Knight, Deputy Leader of the Council said:
“Richmond Council does not have any money on deposit with Icelandic Banks. We use an independent rating system to judge all banks we place investments with and they fell below our criteria. These are difficult times in the financial markets and we will be reporting to Cabinet shortly on the further action we will be taking to protect any new investments the Council makes.”
