Young Bonds and their families to be quizzed

Borough young people who are fans of the Young Bond series are urged to bring their families along to a fun quiz at Richmond Lending Library on Father’s Day (Sunday 15 June).

The quiz will be hosted by Charlie Higson, author of the best selling series of novels about James Bond as a teenager and star of BBC TV’s ‘The Fast Show’.

The event, ‘So you think you know James Bond?’, is being run by the Lion and Unicorn Bookshop in partnership with Richmond Council, as part of the National Year of Reading, a year-long initiative aimed at encouraging people of all ages to read more.

Young people and their families will be quizzed on their knowledge of the Young Bond series and have the opportunity to ask Charlie Higson questions. Copies of the books will be available to purchase on the day.

Cllr Liz Jaeger, Cabinet Member for Youth, Culture and Leisure on Richmond Council, said:

“This is just one of many innovative events being held in the borough during the National Year of Reading.

“We are very excited to have such a well-known author and actor involved in this event. I am sure young people and adults in the borough will be equally eager to come along.

“It is a great way for the family to have a fun day out together on Father’s Day and be inspired to read even more.”

The event is free, but to reserve a place for your family please contact Richmond Council’s Library Service on 020 8940 0590. The quiz starts at 11am.

Richmond Lending Library is located at Little Green, Richmond, TW9 1QL.
