Artistic adults urged to express themselves

Adults in the borough are being offered the chance to brush up their artistic skills at two special workshops run by Richmond Council to support Adult Learners’ Week, 17-23 May.

The first will be a drawing and painting class, held at Twickenham Library, Garfield Road, on Saturday 17 May, from 10am -1pm.

Led by artist Lee Campbell, it will encourage people to discover their creative potential and develop new ways to express their ideas.

The second workshop offers the chance to learn how to use design software on the computer, with those taking part designing and printing their own t-shirt using Word Art.

It will be held at two venues - East Sheen Library, Sheen Lane, on Wednesday, 21 May and Twickenham Library on Friday, 23 May. Both will run from 2 – 6 p.m.

The drawing workshop will cost £20 per person, which includes the cost of all materials, the computer classes are free. Those wishing to take part are asked to book in advance.

Cllr John Coombs, Cabinet Member for Youth, Culture and Leisure, said:

“These workshops are a fantastic opportunity for those who’ve always wanted to develop their artistic skills.

“They will be packed with interesting ideas, helpful advice and promise to be great fun too.”
