Views sought on anti-bullying strategy

Have your say on a new anti-bullying strategy at a special event at Heatham House on Tuesday 24 June.

Local people are invited to comment on a new strategy that will look at ways that schools and youth organisations can combat bullying.

This is a work in progress and input from young people, parents/guardians, teachers, governors, youth workers and others is vital before the final strategy document is agreed.

People can drop in to the event anytime between 11am and 6pm, or they can go to www.antibullying.richmond.lgfl.net to provide feedback online.

Cllr Malcolm Eady, Cabinet Member for Children’s Services and Education on Richmond Council, said:

“The strategy aims to give those who work with young people in the borough guidance on what their school, youth centre or other organisation can do to combat bullying.

“Because this is such an important issue we need to make sure we get the strategy right, and to do this we need to work in partnership with all interested partners, especially young people who are directly impacted by bullying.”

The event will be held at Heatham House, Whitton Road, Twickenham, TW1 1BH.
