Local cafe serves up intriguing dance performances

Dance will be added to the menu at North Stables Café, Orleans House Gallery, on Sunday 6 July as part of the ‘Pequenas Delicias’ dance performance.

The performance is a move away from traditional dance, with the audience selecting dance pieces from a menu.

The shows will take over the whole café, with the story unfolding from the kitchen and spilling out into the café. Even the chef gets involved.

The café will be open from 11am to 6pm and there will be two performances at 2 and 4pm. There is no need to book.

Pequenas Delicias is co-commissioned by Woking Dance Festival and created by Frauke Requardt and Company in conjunction with talented dance students from Hampton Community College and Richmond College.

The event has been organised by Richmond Council in partnership with Big Dance and the Arts Council England.

Cllr Liz Jaeger, Cabinet Member for Youth, Culture and Leisure on Richmond Council, said:

“I am delighted to have such an exciting dance performance taking place in our borough. It is an excellent opportunity for people to experience a fun, non-traditional style of dance in a relaxing environment.

“This is just one of many innovative dance performances that will be organised by our Arts Service this year.

“I encourage everyone to come along and enjoy the free show.”

For further information about the performance please contact the Council’s Art Service on 020 8831 6000.
