Release Date: 07/04/2008
A reminder to residents of the deadline for registering to vote in the forthcoming Mayor of London and London Assembly elections has been issued by Richmond Council.
Polling cards for the May 1 elections were recently sent out by the Council to everyone on the Electoral Register.
However, if you have not received one or have recently moved into or within the borough, you have until Wednesday 16 April to register to vote or to apply to vote by post.
Contact the Council’s electoral services team or download a rolling registration form from www.richmond.gov.uk/vote.
If you require a postal vote or you already have one and you need to cancel or change any details, application forms must reach the Electoral Services Office by 5pm on April 16.
Deputy Constituency Returning Officer, Gillian Norton, said:
“We have made strenuous efforts to ensure that the electoral register is as complete and accurate as possible.
“However, if anyone eligible to vote is not included, or wants to vote by post, we want to ensure that they are aware of the application deadline.
“Please do not hesitate to contact our electoral services team without delay if you have any enquiries or concerns.”
