The Terrace on Richmond Hill

Welcome to filmrichmond - Richmond Council’s film office. Sue Lewis and Sarah Hillman are the Council’s film officers and are responsible for dealing with enquiries from location managers and members of the public regarding filming or commercial photography within the borough.

The River Thames runs through the heart of the borough for 21 miles linking Hampton Court Palace, Richmond town centre and Kew Gardens with central London. From beautiful Royal Parks, historic houses, vibrant town centres and theatres to schools, cemeteries, libraries, halls and galleries - Richmond has a vast array of locations to offer the filmmaker.

Sue and Sarah should be your first call if you would like to film in the borough.  Whether you need help finding a location, or know where you would like to film they will do everything to ensure that your filming goes ahead smoothly. They will contact all Council departments, local friends’ groups and ward councillors where necessary, and liaise with the police.

filmrichmond has built up an extensive list of privately owned properties, many of which can be viewed in our Photo Library.

Feedback

“I just wanted to write and thank you both very much for all your help and support in the run up to filming Morning Echo. The shoot went very smoothly and we had some great support from the local residents!  You were both so efficient, and full of information and excellent advice - I just hope my next film can be shot in Richmond too!” - Geraldine Patten, Producer, Keel Films

“Thank you for making filming in Richmond nothing short of a pleasure”. - Graham Aza, Location Manager

“Just a note to say a very big thank you for kindly organising filming at York House last week!  Couldn’t have gone better – looked really great and, as ever, a pleasure to film in the borough” - Richard Knight, Location Manager
