Pavements

The Council is responsible for the maintenance of pavements and footways. Trip hazards on pavements are a key concern. If you see a pavement that has a defect, please let us know.

Vehicle damage

Pavements, particularly those constructed of paving slabs, can suffer very badly from overriding vehicles. If you see a car damage a pavement, please let us know the vehicle details so we can recover the full cost of repairs.

Road works

When work is carried out on pavements and footways, the organisation (which may include utility companies) carrying out the work is responsible for ensuring there is a safe diversionary route for pedestrians and other traffic, and a satisfactory reinstatement.
