Online Direct Debit instruction

You can pay your Council Tax by setting up a Direct Debit online.

Before you start

Please make sure that your bank account is able to accept Direct Debits.

By law we need to give you 16 days' notice before taking the first payment by Direct Debit. We will send you a new Council Tax bill confirming the instalment dates and amounts.

Do not use the service if:

• you are a third party wishing to pay on behalf of someone else.
• you are not the account holder of the bank account to be debited.
• more than one person is required to authorise debits on your bank account.

In these instances, you must download and complete a paper Direct Debit for Council Tax(pdf, 29KB).

Do not use the online service if you have received either a Final Reminder Notice, summons or you wish to set up a Special Payment Arrangement. You should telephone 020 8891 1411 and speak to us.
