South West London Integrated Care Board partners with End of Life Doula UK

Community news on behalf of South West London Integrated Care Board | 6 March 2024

Residents will be able to access free end of life doula support as part of a pilot project.

End of life doulas provide practical and emotional support to those living with a life-limiting illness. They aim to be a flexible and consistent presence, able to fill gaps in existing support and work alongside health and social care professionals.

The project provides support at any stage, from point of diagnosis, to the later stages of illness and through to the dying process. They will continue to offer support to family members following a bereavement.

The South West London Integrated Care Board has provided funding for a pilot project which means support provided via self-referrals submitted as part of this project are free of charge. Referrals are welcomed from the patient themselves or anyone in their support network and can be made by completing the online form.

To find out more email operations@eol-doula.uk or call 0113 733 9100 to discuss the suitability of end of life doula support for a patient. Please do not share personal information when emailing a non-NHS email address.
