Community news on behalf of Richmond Gymnastics | 14 August 2023

Richmond’s gymnasts are once again representing Great Britain at the Acrobatic European Age Group Competition and European Championships, following on from their success and a bronze medal at the World Age Group Competition last year.

The Acrobatic Europeans take place from 12 to 22 October 2023 in Varna, Bulgaria. From Richmond and representing Great Britain are:

  • Senior Women’s Group: Michaela Cook, Amber Harvey and Imogen Wainman
  • Junior Mixed Pair (13 to 19 years): Toby Cooper-Driver and Anisa Arumugam
  • Junior Men’s Group: Louis Alexander, Freddie Turner, Rex Booth and Gethin Davies

Competing in the 12 to18 European Age Group Competition are:

  • Richmond’s Women’s Group: Chloe Bartholomew, Charlotte Dawson and Leela Were-Ramini
  • Men’s Group: Christoph Tilroe, Jackson Birch, Alexander Lofnes, and Samuel Lewis

All of Richmond’s gymnasts selected for Great Britain are medal winners at this year’s British Acrobatics Championships (July 2023) with four out of the five partnerships current British champions.

Richmond’s Head of Acrobatics said: “We are so proud to see our gymnasts hard work pay off with selections to represent Great Britain at the European Championships this year. With all the challenges they and many others have faced in recent years, we are delighted that five partnerships have the opportunity to compete on the European stage in Bulgaria and we hope they enjoy the experience.”
