Learn more about Watney's Riverside brewery

As part of the Know Your Place Heritage Festival, the Local Studies Library and Archive are hosting a unique talk about the Watney's brewery in Mortlake. 

Journalist and long-time local resident, Peter Dobbie, will examine the brewery from 1900 to 1940: its paternalism towards its workforce, its political clout, the role of women, and the local opposition from temperance groups.

The event will take place at 7.15pm on Monday 4 September at East Sheen Library.
