Hampton, Hampton Hill and Hampton Wick Uplift

We carried out a survey in 2011 to ask local people what improvements they would like to see in the Hampton area.

Our Uplift programme is a direct response to the suggestions we received.

Latest programme update

Work is ongoing as part of the Hampton hill Uplift programme. We have highlighted key areas of work which have been completed and also work which is scheduled.

Ongoing

  • Hampton Hill High Street - Footway works are approximately 70% complete we are currently up to Windmill Road and the Medical Centre at no. 102. Resurfacing of the road is planned for March and works are now expected to complete in April.

Completed

  • Hampton Hill High Street - Street lighting improvements are complete, and Christmas lights have been connected
  • Holly Road - crossing has now had zig-zag markings extended in both directions to improve visibility and compliance
  • Holly Road - bus stops have now been relocated to their final positions
  • Windmill Road - raised table has been completed
  • Cricket Lane - paving has now been completed. New lighting has been installed. Additional 30 min parking bays and parking restrictions to follow
  • Hampton Library - loading and short-term parking bays outside the Library are now operational
  • Deerhurst Crescent - raised table is now complete
  • Hampton Hill High Street - Car park entrances at Sainsburys and the Medical Centre are now complete
  • Hampton Hill High Street - Loading bay is now operational outside Tesco to minimise traffic disruption

Upcoming

  • Hampton Hill High Street - Christmas tree location is under discussion with the Traders Association
  • Hampton Hill High Street -20mph zone introduction will follow road resurfacing
  • Cricket Lane - 30 minute parking bays and parking restrictions are scheduled
  • Hampton Road - new crossing outside the Medical Centre is awaiting TfL authorisation and signal installation, which is linked to the Hampton Road junction signal modernisation
  • Hampton Hill High Street -Footway paving outside no’s 21-29 has been added to the scheme - bus stop opposite will be removed after these works are completed (increasing parking spaces)
  • Hampton Hill High Street -Cherry trees in the square outside Tesco will be replaced - new Himalayan Birch and Sweet Gum trees will be installed alongside the paving works next year, alongside additional lighting
  • Hampton Hill High Street -Street furniture (seats, cycle stands and bins) will be installed together when paving works are mostly complete
  • Hampton Hill Junior - mosaic stands are currently under manufacture
  • Parkside - new tree has been proposed for the grass area behind the bus stop at Parkside
  • Hampton Road - junction modernisation design is in its final stages with TfL - bus stop near junction to be removed prior to resurfacing
