Last night of the Proms with the Mayor

Classical music fans are being invited to attend the borough’s very own classical musical celebration at a special screening of the Last Night of the Proms on Saturday, 8 September.

The Mayor, Cllr Rita Palmer, is inviting local residents to come along and watch the world’s greatest classical musical festival on the big screen at the Cole Court Centre, Twickenham. As well as live coverage the event will feature a two course dinner, sing-a-long and raffle to celebrate the end of the prom season.

Cllr Rita Palmer, Mayor of Richmond upon Thames, said: “The Last Night of the Proms is almost upon us and what better way to celebrate it than with fellow music lovers over a special dinner. It’s been a fantastic season for the Proms and we’ll be entertained by the likes of John Williams, Puccini and other classics at this great community event.

“All of the money we raise will go towards helping two great charities that are close to my heart, The Horse Rangers Association and The Poppy Factory.”

Tickets are £20.00 which includes a two course dinner. For tickets please contact the Mayor’s Office on mayors.office@richmond.gov.uk or ring 020 8891 7123.
