Insurance claims to the Highways Management Group

If you have suffered a ‘Personal Injury’ while using the public highway and believe this to be a result of the Councils actions or non action then you should write giving as much detail as possible to the Highway Management Group.

The Highway Management Group will arrange to inspect the location of the accident, it is usual to meet with the claimant on site, and submit a report of the accident to the Councils Insurers. The Councils insurers will then assess whether they believe the Council is liable and make contact with the claimant. Once the claim has been submitted to the insurers all correspondence should be addressed to them so as to avoid any unnecessary delay.
